visit malaysia (actually, it's kelantan + perak)

Hey everybody! This time I'll share to you guys about interesting places to visit here in Kelantan and Perak, my hometown from my mom's side and my dad's side respectively.

Firstly, Kelantannnn!!
Despite the flood that happens almost every year, the condition here is great and will still give you aesthetic pictures that can you post on your Instagram and gain a number of likes!

So typically, let's start with the beaches.
Kelantan is a state that is located at east and is blessed with beautiful seas. One of them is Pantai Cahaya Bulan! It's a local attraction here that excites everyone with the beautiful sand and the serenity of the sea. So bring your family here (and a lover, of course) to enjoy picnicking or watching the sunset!

Here's a drone footage if you want a live cam of this beautiful place!: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y_IYTpTNEHY
And a review + location of it : https://www.tripadvisor.com.my/Attraction_Review-g298285-d5539862-Reviews-Pantai_Cahaya_Bulan-Kota_Bharu_Kelantan.html

Next iiiiiiis the Buddhist temples! Due to the strong influence of Thai in Kelantan's culture, there a lot of status and monuments here related to Thai Buddhism. You can see the remnants of the history back then when Kelantan was a part of Siam before it was handed to British. What an interesting way to learn history!

Wat Machimmaram is an impressive Thai Buddhist Temple with a giant sitting Buddha statue located in the Tumpat district of Kelantan, about 20 km from Kota Bharu.
Tumpat is the northernmost part of Kelantan and borders Thailand so it is not surprising that there is an ethnic Thai community here.
The temple is a shining example of Malaysia’s famed religious tolerance where a Buddhist monument of this prominence can be built in a state like Kelantan which is overwhelmingly Muslim.

Other one is
 Wat Phothivihan
Wat Phothivihan was completed in 1979 and is famous for its Reclining Buddha statue. It is often mistakenly described as South East Asia's biggest reclining Buddha but that honour goes to the one at the Chauk Htet Gyi Pagoda in Yangon, Myanmar which is 66 meters long. But it is Malaysia's biggest with a length of 40 meters, 7 meters longer than the next biggest contender, Wat Chaiya Mangakalaram in Penang.
The craftsmanship of the statue is fairly simple when compared to similar but more elaborate reclining Buddhas in say Thailand or Myanmar.
And these are my personal recommendations on places you can visit in Perak! Perak is my kampung on my dad's side and he brought us to a lot of places there that I find very intriguing so you guys should check these out too!
The Leaning Clock Tower of Teluk Intan
The Teluk Intan Leaning Tower can be abbreviated as TILT and that is what it does!
This 25 meter high tower in the small Perak town of Teluk Intan is Malaysia's answer to the Leaning Tower of Pisa. It is not as old, nor as tall, nor as famous as its Italian counterpart but it does have a distinct incline and that makes a curiosity worth visiting.
It was constructed in 1885 by Mr. Leong Choon Cheong and some Ceylonese contractors. It was built primarily to store water for local usage during the dry season and in case of fire. Since it began leaning over due to soft soil foundations it has become a tourist attraction.
It is a 3 storey brick construction with a large steel water tank at the upper level. From the outside however it has been disguised to look like an 8 storey Chinese pagoda.

The Lost World of Tambun is a well-managed water park and amusement park set in stunning scenery on the outskirts of Ipoh.
The Lost World of Tambun is run by the Sunway Group, the same people who operate Sunway Lagoon, and it shows the same high standards and professional look. The landscaping at Lost World is beautiful but what sets it apart from other theme parks in Malaysia is its superb setting. The park sits at the foot of some of those stunningly steep limestone hills which are so characteristic of the Ipoh area. With greenery all around it is easy to forget that the park is located in a suburb of busy Ipoh city.
Next, Kellie's Castle! It is a very magnificent building that somehow gives out a very eerie vibe but give you the nostalgic sense nevertheless. The history of this building is particularly interesting so here is where can you read more : https://www.malaysia-traveller.com/kellies-castle.html

That's all for today's entry! Go grab a ticket and visit now! (I'll give you free accommodation at my kampung so if you're interested boleh pm tepi :D)
